Advice for real-world living
Food confusion?
Every day it seems there's a new article about what is good or bad for us, so that 'being healthy' can become quite a confusing task.

I’m passionate about helping you understand how the body processes food and nutrients and to discover how to make YOUR body work the most effectively it can. What works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for another.

And once you know this, you can start to make informed eating decisions based on what you know your body needs, not what the latest news article is telling you, helping you find a good balance that includes the foods you really enjoy.

Let me help you find the best way to have your cake - or whatever is your guilty pleasure - and eat it!
It's not all about weight
Or calories or low-fat. What you eat & drink becomes your body.

The human body is constantly regenerating itself – our brains every 2 months, the liver every 6 weeks, new skin every month. And it does that using the nutrients from what you consume today.

Want to see what your body will look like in the future, look at what you’re consuming today.

This is why diets that encourage you to stick within a set number of calories / fat content, regardless of the nutrient value, can make you feel tired or even become ill because your body isn't getting the nutrients it needs.
Dieting Myth 1
Lose weight = eat less food

I see many people who eat very little already and are still struggling to meet their health goals. This is often because this mix of nutrients isn't giving their body what it needs.

Many of my clients, and I include myself in this, now eat more food than they did on previous ‘diets’.

Salad is your friend
Our health is determined not only by the foods that we eat but our ability to digest and metabolise those foods.

Raw food requires a lot more processing than cooked food and this can actually slow your digestion down.

Dieting Myth 2
Why 'real-world'?
Our modern lives just don't allow us to never go out eating and drinking, or always being able to prepare home cooked meals.
We all have great intentions for healthy living, but what usually derails us is how restrictive most 'diets' are in relation to how we live our lives and how we have to deny ourselves the things we enjoy eating the most.
Well I love lattes, cake, wine and cheese and regularly eat out, and I managed to achieved my health goals, so I'd never be hypocritical and say that you can't do the same. If I can, so can you. Bet you didn’t expect to hear that from a nutritionist!
The key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight isn’t just about what you eat. It’s about when you eat it, in what combinations and in what quantity, whilst also working to boost your body’s digestion and purification systems.
